Gentle removal of
face paint

The face painting products we use are water based and easily removed.

It’s important to gently remove face paint from your child’s skin as they have delicate and sensitive skin. Follow these steps to ensure their skin is as healthy and colour-free as before they received their face paint:

  • Rinse face with luke-warm water, ensuring your child’s eyes are closed
  • Repeat until you see no more colour in the water you use washing their face

Some colours may be more difficult to remove due to their high pigmentation. In this instance, apply a small amount of coconut or baby oil on a cotton pad or ball, and gently rub on affected area(s) in a circular motion.

  • Leave for 15 mins and rinse again.

If pigmentation remains, the natural oils in your little one’s face will do their job over night, and the pigmentation should be gone by the morning once rewashed.

IMPORTANT:

  • Wash face paint before your child sleeps
  • Do NOT use baby wipes to remove
  • Do NOT put oil on or near child’s eye/lid
  • Do NOT scrub as this will irritate their skin
  • Avoid using soap or anything you wouldn’t use on your own face
  • Do NOT apply alcohol or nail polish remover to your child’s face as this will irritate and dry out their skin
  • Remember to be gentle

Disclaimer: This is the safest way to remove face paint, however, we are not liable for any unsafe or inappropriate removal of face paint resulting in harm to your child.

Christening Celebrations: Fun-Filled Activities for Kids

Last updated 11th October 2023

Hello, amazing parents and little adventurers!

Are you ready to dive into a world of joy and giggles at your little one’s christening? We know how important it is to keep the kiddos entertained while the grown-ups catch up with each other, and celebrate the christened child! So, get ready to discover a treasure trove of exciting activities that’ll make your christening celebration unforgettable for both you and your mini guests.

1. Special Treatment

Let the children transform into their favourite characters, animals, or symbols without uttering a single word. Face painting is a great way to have children have a moment where all the attention is on them!

Handy tip: Get your formal photos out of the way, before the face painter arrives! If you are mess-conscious, balloon twisting and magic are a great alternative, that will also

2. Crafty Corner

Let those creative juices flow with a craft station that’s all about imagination. Provide a variety of craft supplies like colourful paper, textas, stickers, and glue. Little hands can create masterpieces, whether they’re scribbling their first doodles or crafting mini works of art.

Handy tip: if you are mess conscious, avoid glitter, use sticky tape instead of glue, and pencils or crayons instead of textas to keep the area and clothing mess-free.

3. Storytime Extravaganza

Gather the little ones for a magical storytime adventure. Have a storyteller weave captivating tales that will transport the kids to whimsical lands.

Handy tip: have a chair for your storyteller, and a mat or cushions for the kids! You can book one of our entertainers

4. Bubble Bonanza

Bubbles, bubbles everywhere! Set up a bubble station where tiny tots can chase after these enchanting spheres of joy. Bring out the camera for adorable photo opportunities, it’ll look magical!

Handy tip: contain the bubbles to one area, lay down a sheet, have parents supervise younger kids blowing bubbles to avoid any spilt solution!

5. Musical Mayhem Dance Party Delight

Get those tiny feet moving and grooving with a mini dance party. Bring the kids (and parents!) to the dance floor with some upbeat tunes and colourful lights. Encourage the kids to show off their best dance moves and create memories that will make you smile for years to come.

Handy tip: give the DJ or band a heads up, or send them a song list in advance! Better yet, have one of our DJs, bands or entertainers attend to facilitate and kick start the festivities.

6. Teddy Bear Picnic

Transform an area into a cosy picnic spot where kids and their furry friends can gather. Encourage them to bring their favourite teddy bears or plush toys for a delightful afternoon of snacks, games, and bonding. It’s a heart warming way to create lasting memories.

So there you have it! These tried and tested activities will turn your christening celebration into a whirlwind of laughter, joy, and precious memories. Remember, the most important thing is to create an atmosphere where both kids and adults can enjoy themselves to the fullest. Here’s to a christening that will be talked about for years to come!

Busting Common Children’s Party Myths: Let’s Get Real and Have Fun!

Last updated 11th October 2023

Planning a children’s party can be a delightful experience, but it often comes with its fair share of myths and misconceptions that can stress out even the most organised party planners. Fear not, intrepid party planner! In this post, we’re going to bust some of those common children’s party myths and give you the inside scoop on how to plan an unforgettable party that will leave kids and parents alike with smiles on their faces.

Myth #1: The More Expensive, the Better
Reality Check: While it’s tempting to think that spending a fortune on decorations, entertainment, and catering will guarantee a great party, the truth is that kids are more interested in fun activities and engaging games than fancy frills. A creative craft station or a themed treasure hunt can often be more exciting than pricey decorations. Remember, it’s about the experience, not the price tag!

Myth #2: Pinterest-Perfect Parties are the Only Way

Reality Check: Reality Check: Thanks to social media, the pressure to create picture-perfect parties has reached new heights. But guess what? Kids don’t care if every napkin matches the theme or if the cupcakes look like works of art. They want to play, laugh, and enjoy themselves. So, embrace imperfections and focus on creating a joyful atmosphere rather than a flawless photo op.

Myth #3: Every Minute Must be Scheduled

Reality Check: While having a loose plan is great, scheduling every minute down to the last second can lead to chaos and stress. Kids are unpredictable, and their attention spans can be shorter than a TikTok video. Instead of a rigid schedule, have a few key activities lined up, but be flexible and allow room for spontaneous games and interactions.

Myth #4: Goody Bags Must Be Extravagant

Reality Check: It’s easy to get caught up in the goody bag frenzy, thinking that each child needs a mountain of expensive treats. But in reality, most parents would appreciate fever, thoughtful items over a bag filled with plastic trinkets that end up in the bin. Consider quality over quantity – a single game, puzzle or a craft kit can make a much bigger impact than a bag full of forgettable toys.

Myth #5: Parents and Kids Should Have Separate Areas

Reality Check: Hosting separate areas for kids and adults might seem like a good idea to keep everyone entertained, but it often leads to divided parties where parents feel disconnected from their children’s experiences. Encourage mingling by planning some activities that parents and kids can enjoy together. A friendly parent-child limbo contest or a group game of musical statues can bridge the generation gap and create lasting memories.

Myth #6: Everything Must Match the Theme Perfectly

Reality Check: Themes are fantastic for sparking creativity, but don’t feel compelled to make everything – from the decorations to the food – fit the theme to a tee. A party with a loose theme still feels cohesive and enjoyable. Plus, mixing and matching can save you time and money, and it adds an element of surprise.

In a nutshell, planning a children’s party doesn’t have to involve bending over backward to meet unrealistic expectations. The key is to focus on the moments of joy, laughter, and connection that come from simple and genuine interactions. Remember, it’s the heartfelt experiences that make a party memorable, not the myths that can bog you down. So, go forth and plan that party with confidence, and most importantly, with a whole lot of fun!
